Journal of French Language Studies

Journal of French Language Studies, sponsored by the Association for French Language Studies, encourages and promotes theoretical, descriptive and applied studies of all aspects of the French language. The journal brings together research from the English- and French-speaking traditions, publishing significant work on French phonology, morphology, syntax, lexis and semantics, sociolinguistics and variation studies. Most work is synchronic in orientation, but historical and comparative items are also included. Studies of the acquisition of the French language, where these take due account of current theory in linguistics and applied linguistics, are also published. Issues include survey articles reviewing the state of the art in a major field, as well as squibs on modern usage in French and a major book review section. As from 2004, one issue in three will be thematic and devoted to broad topics such as the acquisition of French, discourse or corpus-based descriptions of the French language.

Nordic Journal of Linguistics

Format: Journal

The Nordic Journal of Linguistics is published by Cambridge University Press for the Nordic Association of Linguists. The journal covers all branches of linguistics, with a special focus on issues related to the Nordic languages (including Finnish, Greenlandic and Saami) and on issues of general theoretical interest. The editors encourage submission of research articles, debate contributions and book reviews. One volume is published per calendar year, and each volume contains three issues, one of which is a thematic issue.

Journal of Germanic Linguistics

Format: Journal

The Journal of Germanic Linguistics (JGL), published for the Society for Germanic Linguistics (SGL) and the Forum for the Society for Germanic Language Studies (FGLS), carries original articles, reviews, and notes on synchronic and diachronic issues pertaining to Germanic languages and dialects from the earliest phases to the present, including English (to 1500) and the extraterritorial varieties. Contributions are invited on the phonological, morphological, syntactic, and semantic analysis of these languages and dialects, as well as their historical development, both linguistic and textual. Especially welcome are contributions that address questions of interest to a broad range of scholars concerned with general issues in formal theory, sociolinguistics, and psycholinguistics. The language of publication is normally English, though manuscripts in German will be considered.
