The Journal contains summaries and analyses of decisions by national and international courts and arbitral or other tribunals, and of contemporary U.S. practice in international law. International Legal Materials (ILM) brings together the most important primary international legal documents with commentary, publishing six issues a year since 1962 and will be published by Cambridge University Press from 2017.

William A. Schabas is Professor of International Law at Middlesex University, London. He also holds appointments at Leiden University and the National University of Ireland, Galway, where he is chairman of the Irish Centre for Human Rights and an honorary professorship at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in Beijing.
