Current Perspectives in Health Computing
This book charts current computing applications in health care in the United Kingdom. The twenty-eight papers which make up the volume were the basis of discussion at a meeting organized by the British Computer Society Medical Specialist Groups in response to the 1982 K6rner Report on Health Services Information. The topics covered include the application of computing techniques in nursing care and nurse education, patient investigation, patient monitoring, community medicine, general practice, prescribing and specialized decision support. The implementation of information systems at district and regional levels and the implications for health care management and planning are also considered.
