Die Cambridge Wiskundewoordeboek vir Skole (Afrikaans)
This dictionary covers all the mathematics terminology needed in the Intermediate and Senior Phase classroom and this has been presented by the authors in an interesting, creative and learner-friendly way. Written in a language that is easily accessible to non-mother tongue speakers aged 10 to 15, this dictionary contains around 1000 definitions of mathematical concepts and words drawn from the Outcomes-based curriculum. Words are explained using truly South African examples and strong visuals to contextualise, explain and reinforce concepts.
Die Cambridge Wiskundewoordeboek vir skole bevat ongeveer 1000 verklarings van wiskundige konsepte en woorde, gemik op die Intermediere Fase en Senior Fase van Suid-Afrikaanse skole. PRAESA (Project for the Study of Alternative Education in South Africa) en Karen Press slaag daarin om op kreatiewe wyse deur middel van eg Suid-Afrikaanse voorbeelde al die terminologie wat in die Uitkomsgebaseerde kurrikulum benodig word, in hierdie teks te dek. Trefwoorde word verduidelik in ’n taal en styl wat by 10- tot 15-jariges aanklank sal vind, en word met behulp van sterk visuele beelde in konteks geplaas.
