exc GSTThe aim of this book is to provide the reader with a basic understanding of Fourier series, Fourier transforms and Laplace transforms. The book is an expanded and polished version of the authors' notes for a one semester course, for students of mathematics, electrical engineering, physics and computer science. Prerequisites for readers of this book are a basic course in both calculus and linear algebra. Otherwise the material is self-contained with numerous exercises and various examples of applications.
- Numerous exercises (approx. 120)
- Diverse applications, especially engineering (signal processing and image analysis): also quantum mechanics, optics, geophysics, astronomy
- Intended to be used as a mathematical textbook for students of engineering and science

Combinatorics, Probability and Computing
: Journal
Published bimonthly, Combinatorics, Probability & Computing is devoted to the three areas of combinatorics, probability theory and theoretical computer science. Topics covered include classical and algebraic graph theory, extremal set theory, matroid theory, probabilistic methods and random combinatorial structures; combinatorial probability and limit theorems for random combinatorial structures; the theory of algorithms (including complexity theory), randomised algorithms, probabilistic analysis of algorithms, computational learning theory and optimisation.
European Journal of Applied Mathematics
: Journal
Since 2008 EJAM surveys have been expanded to cover Applied and Industrial Mathematics. Coverage of the journal has been strengthened in probabilistic applications, while still focusing on those areas of applied mathematics inspired by real-world applications, and at the same time fostering the development of theoretical methods with a broad range of applicability. Survey papers contain reviews of emerging areas of mathematics, either in core areas or with relevance to users in industry and other disciplines.Research papers may be in any area of applied mathematics, with special emphasis on new mathematical ideas, relevant to modelling and analysis in modern science and technology, and the development of interesting mathematical methods of wide applicability.
The ANZIAM Journal
: Journal
The ANZIAM Journal considers papers in any field of applied mathematics and related mathematical sciences with the aim of rapid publication in print and electronic formats. Novel applications of mathematics in real situations are especially welcomed. All papers should include some indication of applicability, and an introduction that can be understood by non-specialist readers from the whole applied mathematical community.
Mathematical Structures in Computer Science
: Journal
Mathematical Structures in Computer Science is a journal of theoretical computer science which focuses on the application of ideas from the structural side of mathematics and mathematical logic to computer science. The journal aims to bridge the gap between theoretical contributions and software design, publishing original papers of a high standard and broad surveys with original perspectives in all areas of computing, provided that ideas or results from logic, algebra, geometry, category theory or other areas of logic and mathematics form a basis for the work. The journal welcomes applications to computing based on the use of specific mathematical structures (e.g. topological and order-theoretic structures) as well as on proof-theoretic notions or results. The journal will also accept contributions in new interdisciplinary fields bridging computer science, quantum physics, mathematics and information theory. In particular, papers on quantum information processing and communication, as well as on the related issues in quantum language design will be considered. The journal is also interested in papers on computational modelling of epigenetics phenomena, protein-protein interaction, stochasticity in molecular cascades. Mathematical approches to System Biology will be welcomed, within the broad frame of post-genomic views of embryogenesis and evolution.
