Introducing the Cambridge South Asia Advisory Board
Bringing together education experts and thought leaders from across India

Our South Asia team has set up a new advisory board that brings together education experts and thought leaders from across India. Together they have a wealth of expert knowledge and insights on strategy, innovation, and research.
A clear roadmap for education reform in India was outlined in its National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The Board will help strengthen our efforts to support the Indian government to turn NEP 2020’s vision into reality and facilitate in making it accessible for all levels of teachers and learners in India.
Our South Asia Managing Director, Arun Rajamani, said: “Cambridge’s expertise in education reform and excellence in delivering learning and research at the highest international levels, when combined with the expertise of these thought leaders, will certainly bring value to all the constituents in the ecosystem. We thank the board for their contribution in analysing the recommendations of the NEP 2020 and in establishing the sustainability of education. Innovation backed by research-based frameworks and methodologies, student-centric learning approaches, strong assessment and flexible technologies will be key to the NEP 2020 achieving measurable learning outcomes.”
Recently Cambridge leaders met with the new board to deliberate on one of the key questions: How can we look at delivering measurable outcome-based learning through diverse resources and digital mediums?
The board agreed that the NEP 2020 has signalled a shift to ‘policy’, ‘preparation’ and ‘practice’ which will chart the course for the future of education. The current system and process of learning must transform to support the outcome-based learning vision laid out by the education policy.
Senior Vice President – Products, South Asia, Ashish Arora, said: “Research, effective use of technology and continuous professional development of teachers will play an increasingly important role in addressing the diverse learning needs. With the help of this advisory board, we will also focus on a variety of possible solutions to support learning outcomes, guided by the recommendations of the NEP 2020.”
Head of Publishing, South Asia, Soumitri Datta, said: “While developing any new learning resource our aim is to align it with regional and international curriculum content and standards, teaching practices and assessment. While ensuring that the resources remain fundamental to high equity and attainment for all learners, we are sure that together with the expertise of this board, we will be able to create resources that will support educators to bring the NEP 2020 into their classrooms with ease.”
“We are delighted to welcome our South Asia Advisory Board; their insights and dynamic perspective on the Indian education reform will help us make a substantial contribution impacting millions of learners in the region. As we partner with Ministries of Education and institutions around the world to help improve the quality of teaching and learning, we will find local solutions for local issues together with our accomplished Indian educators and build a sustainable future,” said Vice-President, Cambridge Partnership for Education, South Asia, Preeti Hingorani.
