Expert Systems 85

Expert Systems 85
Presented at the University of Warwick in December 1985, these papers reflect the two streams of the conference: techniques and applications. Techniques examined in the first stream covered many aspects of expert systems research, including knowledge acquisition, knowledge-based planning and different inference methods, while applications in statistics, diagnosis, process control and design were included in the second stream. Expert systems are making significant contributions to an ever-widening range of activities, from academic research in computer science to industry, business and, indeed, to society at large. This book reports from practitioners at the forefront of this expanding field and will be essential reading for all who wish to keep pace with it.

Robotica
: Journal
Robotica is a forum for the multidisciplinary subject of robotics and encourages developments, applications and research in this important field of automation and robotics with regard to industry, health, education and economic and social aspects of relevance. Coverage includes activities in hostile environments, applications in the service and manufacturing industries, biological robotics, dynamics and kinematics involved in robot design and uses, on-line robots, robot task planning, rehabilitation robotics, sensory perception, software in the widest sense, particularly in respect of programming languages and links with CAD/CAM systems, telerobotics and various other areas. In addition, interest is focused on various Artificial Intelligence topics of theoretical and practical interest. Emphasis is placed on sound theory and realistic applications of robotics and AI in the general field of automation.
Theory and Practice of Logic Programming
: Journal
Theory and Practice of Logic Programming emphasises both the theory and practice of logic programming. Logic programming applies to all areas of artificial intelligence and computer science and is fundamental to all of them. Among the topics covered are AI applications that use logic programming, logic programming methodologies, specification, analysis and verification of systems, inductive logic programming, multi-relational data mining, natural language processing, knowledge representation, nonmonotonic reasoning, semantic web reasoning, databases, implementations and architectures and constraint logic programming.
AI EDAM
: Journal
The journal publishes original articles about significant AI theory and applications based on the most up-to-date research in all branches and phases of engineering. Suitable topics include: analysis and evaluation; selection; configuration and design; manufacturing and assembly; and concurrent engineering. Specifically, the journal is interested in the use of AI in planning, design, analysis, simulation, qualitative reasoning, spatial reasoning and graphics, manufacturing, assembly, process planning, scheduling, numerical analysis, optimization, distributed systems, multi-agent applications, cooperation, cognitive modeling, learning and creativity. AI EDAM is also interested in original, major applications of state-of-the-art knowledge-based techniques to important engineering problems.
Journal of Functional Programming
: Journal
Journal of Functional Programming is the only journal devoted solely to the design, implementation, and application of functional programming languages, spanning the range from mathematical theory to industrial practice. Topics covered include functional languages and extensions, implementation techniques, reasoning and proof, program transformation and synthesis, type systems, type theory, language-based security, memory management, parallelism and applications. Special tracks are devoted to tools and applications, commercial uses and education; pearl-type papers are encouraged. For more details see the Advice for Authors page..Manuscripts for consideration in the Journal of Functional Programming should be submitted electronically, via Scholar One ManuscriptsTM: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/cup/jfp_submit.
