Splendid Science

Splendid Science for classes 1-8 is a science course that aims to help students not only learn science as a subject but also experience the beauty of science around them. The course has been designed with a strong content base keeping in mind the way children learn and acquire scientific skills. The vision of the National Education Policy 2020 has been explicitly and implicitly adhered to in making this a wholesome science course—a course that is pedagogically sound, experiential, holistic, discovery-oriented, learner-centred, discussion-based and, of course, enjoyable. The core of Splendid Science is active learning. Active learning simply means giving opportunities to children to observe, analyse, experience and interpret, as these experiences promote ownership of ideas and result in learning with understanding. This course is, thus, a concerted attempt to set children on a journey of self-discovery. There is a strong pedagogical flow in the design of each chapter.
