What makes Kid's Box New Generation special?
Children grow up a lot during their primary school years. The Kid's Box characters do too, mirroring natural social connections and interests. So your pupils are always learning English in a way that's relevant and appropriately challenging for them, with relatable characters leading the way.

The toys in the toy box may come alive when nobody's looking, but the whole course comes to life before your class' eyes, with up to five videos per unit. With the digital flexibility offered by Cambridge One, classes can enjoy lots of interactivity and pupils can share their learning with their families at home.
With all new content and documentary videos, CLIL sections bring other subjects into the English classroom, meaning the language is taught in a variety of contexts. Throughout the course, you'll see that activities are mapped to the Cambridge Life Competencies Framework, so while learning about the world, your pupils are working on the skills they need to thrive in it.
Children are developing their personalities every day and a big part of this is their sense of responsibility to themselves, others and the world around them. With the course characters to help you (Trevor is a very well-meaning troll), help your pupils learn how to have positive values in all kinds of situations, from looking after the environment to eating good food, to playing fair.
Encouraging children to speak is a key focus. In early levels, pupils practice sounds and letter formation with Monty the mouse. Later on, Lock the detective takes over the ongoing phonics investigation. These dedicated sounds and spelling sections integrate phonics into your lessons, making speaking a natural part of exploring English.

Ultimately, teaching and learning should be enjoyable. Stories of toys that have personalities of their own, hapless detectives and an archaeologist's exploration of the ancient world bring fun, laughter and discovery to the experience. There's just something about Trevor's tendency to eat pencils that makes you smile...
The syllabus follows the Cambridge English Qualifications for young learners syllabus, which works towards a celebration of learning for every pupil. Exam preparation is gently woven into each level, familiarising pupils with exam scenarios in a natural way. New exam folders at the end of the Pupil's Books provide the option of a stronger focus on exam preparation.
Levels 1 & 2 prepare for Pre-A1 Starters.

Pupil's Book with eBook
Each level contains 8-12 units of material built on a trusted and well-loved methodology that is easy to teach, relevant and as useful now as it's always been. It understands and celebrates the importance of the teacher in the classroom and acknowledges the importance of home life and peer groups to students learning, with much loved characters representing these social connections.
As well as the comprehensive language syllabus, the course incorporates important life skills like creative and critical thinking, mapped to the Cambridge Life Competencies Framework. CLIL sections link English to learning in other subjects. Integrated exam preparation helps support students preparing for Cambridge Exams with optional extra exam sections.
The Pupil's Book also includes a code to access eBooks on Cambridge One.
Activity Book with Digital Pack
The Activity Book offers extra practice of all the language and skills covered in the Pupil's Book. Included in the book is a code for students to access their digital pack on Cambridge One, with extra bitesized digital practice, access to audio and video, and games.
It's bigger, it's brighter, it's even better!
You'd spot the classic course that teachers and learners know and love from a mile away. The personality and humour shines through and busy teachers can pick up the book and teach with confidence, with little need for preparation time. So, what are the new ingredients for the new generation?
A visual extravaganza!
Recognise these characters? The toys, Star family and friends are still your loyal classroom assistants, but they've had makeovers. You'll notice something particularly different about Stella, Meera and Lenny in the later levels... The standard of today's TV, films, toys and games means that children live in a visual extravaganza. So to keep them engaged and enjoying learning, lessons need to be visually stimulating too. Alongside the modernised illustrations and photography, almost 300 new videos bring the characters, stories and language to life.
Exploring the world
English isn't just a school subject. Neither is geography, science, art, or any other subject. So let's not keep them in separate boxes! Language helps grow the world around you and is central to your understanding in any scenario. So CLIL sections, with all-new content and documentary videos, make other subjects central to learning English. Throughout the course, you'll see that activities are mapped to the Cambridge Life Competencies Framework, so while learning about the world, your students are working on the skills they need to thrive in it.
Sounds and Spelling
Sheep in socks and parrots guarding grapes from crocodiles... sounds like phonics practice! Led by course characters, sounds and spelling pages and new videos focus on the sounds and letter formations that pupils need to practise at each stage of their learning.
An extra dimension
Simon likes swimming but not cleaning his dad's car. Children like songs but they may not think they like "speaking practice". They like stories but they may not think they like "reading practice". With the suite of digital support on Cambridge One, song words on a page can become a karaoke session. A storyboard can become a mini movie. You can display the books on screen so the class can watch, listen to and work through the digital content together. Pupils can watch the videos, play games and do extra activities on any device, outside class time. Learning and skills practice becomes an interactive experience in an energetic, supportive environment. Can't really help Simon with the car cleaning though.
Teacher's Book with Digital Pack
The Teacher's Book provides lesson plans, answer keys and plenty of teacher support, including ideas for supporting mixed-ability classes. The Teacher's Book includes a code to access your Digital Pack on Cambridge One, with classroom presentation software, all your audio-visual materials and extra teaching resources.
