This book will provide an up-to-date and comprehensive basis for undergraduate courses in structural concrete and concrete materials taken by students in civil and structural engineering. Its numerous design tables and graphs, together with extracts from BS8110 and the Department of the Environment publication Design of Normal Concrete Mixes will also make it an important book for all practising professionals and those involved in graduate-level studies. A quick glance at the author's contents list will reveal the comprehensive nature of the book. In particular the book covers the philosophy and practice of structural design, concrete material properties and the design of concrete mixes, reinforced concrete beams and slabs (including the Johansen and Hillerborg methods of slab analysis and design), concrete columns and walls, and reinforced concrete frames.
