The Lichenologist
: Journal
The Lichenologist is the premier scientific journal devoted exclusively to the study of lichens worldwide. As the leading forum for the dissemination of new concepts and topical reviews, The Lichenologist reaches more scientists concerned with the study of lichens and lichen symbionts than any other single journal. All aspects of lichenology are considered including systematics and phylogenetics; molecular biology; ultrastructure, anatomy and morphology; secondary chemistry; effects of pollutants and use as bioindicators; biogeography. In addition to standard length research papers, the journal also publishes longer monographs, Short Communications and Book Reviews. A monthly issue may occasionally be devoted to papers deriving from a symposium. The Lichenologist Online Digital Archive from 1958 to 2003 is now available for purchase.
Journal of the Marine Biological Association of the United Kingdom
: Journal
Journal of the Marine Biological Association UK (JMBA) is an international journal, publishing original research and reviews on all aspects of marine biology, to support the aims of the MBA. The topics of present interest for JMBA are: - Marine ecology, behaviour and fisheries; - Biodiversity and population studies of marine ecosystems, especially potential impacts of global warming, ocean acidification and climate change on ecosystem resilience;- Physiology, biochemistry, genetics and molecular biology of marine organisms, including microbiology, particularly related to the integrative ecophysiology of marine organisms- Taxonomic syntheses, including molecular phylogenies;- Morphology, life history and developmental biology of marine organisms, especially model systems;- Chemical and physical oceanography, as directly relevant to marine biology;- Marine environmental health, and in particular its relationship to human health and well-beingIn addition to papers describing original research, the journal will also publish short reviews and original viewpoints on topics of current marine biological interest. Bird Conservation International
: Journal
Bird Conservation International is a quarterly peer-reviewed journal that seeks to promote worldwide research and action for the conservation of birds and the habitats upon which they depend. The official journal of BirdLife International, it provides stimulating, international and up-to-date coverage of a broad range of conservation topics, using birds to illuminate wider issues of biodiversity, conservation and sustainable resource use. Bird Conservation International publishes original papers and reviews, including targeted articles and recommendations by leading experts. Bird Conservation International has a special online subscription rate for individuals in developing countries.
Antarctic Science
: Journal
Antarctic Science provides a truly international forum for the broad spread of studies that increasingly characterise scientific research in the Antarctic. Whilst emphasising interdisciplinary work, the journal publishes papers from environmental management to biodiversity, from volcanoes to icebergs, and from oceanography to the upper atmosphere. No other journal covers such a wide range of Antarctic scientific studies. The journal attracts papers from all countries currently undertaking Antarctic research. It publishes both review and data papers with no limits on length, two-page short notes on technical developments and recent discoveries, and book reviews. These, together with an editorial discussing broader aspects of science, provide a rich and varied mixture of items to interest researchers in all areas of science. There are no page charges, or charges for colour, to authors publishing in the Journal. One issue each year is normally devoted to a specific theme or papers from a major meeting.
